The Making of A Froggy Fable
This book evolved over a long period of time, and went through many revisions. Here's a brief glimpse behind the scenes at how it came to be.
Early Sketches

The story began in the pages of my notebook, and at first I had no idea how it was going to end. I just started writing to express my thoughts, and it turned into a story about a frog.
The Online Story

I decided to turn the story into an interactive book. I re-drew all the pictures, revised the story, and created a web version. The pages were small, and there was only room for a few words on each one.
The Book Draft(s)
To turn the story into a 32-page picture book, the text needed to be shorter and the pictures larger. Here is an early sketch layout of the book. There were many, many revisions.
Final Illustrations

When the text and layout were settled, I painted the final illustrations. First I sketched them in pencil, then traced them with ink and a brush. Then I painted everything with watercolors. |
